In making quilts, the iron needs to be hot enough to press seams open and to press wrinkles out of cotton. Today was not a good day in that department at my house. One iron, which I had suspected was on its way out, died. I had a backup from a thrift shop. But, there is a reason it was in the thrift shop; it didn’t get hot enough to do the job. So, there are two irons in my trash and a replacement on its way. Fingers crossed.
